August is a barren month for F1 Fanatics this year. Not until its final day will we next get to see F1 cars in action.
Happily, there's plenty of F1 and motor racing goodness for you to enjoy on F1 Fanatic between now and then.
1. Look ahead to the 2013 season
As we pass the halfway point in the 2012 season it's time to look ahead to the next one.
The driver market is in full swing for 2013 and the rules are taking shape. It's been quiet on the calendar front so far as teams negotiate a new deal with Bernie Ecclestone, but expect some provisional dates soon.
The 2013 F1 season pages have started to appear in the main navigation and these will continue to develop over the coming months with all the information on the 64th running of the world championship.

Here you will find interactive championship points standings and records on everything from who's scored the most pole positions to which team did the fastest pit stops:

- 'Poetry in Motion' by Tony Brooks ' Tony Brooks long-awaited autobiography is my book of the year so far.
- 'Team Lotus: My view from the pit wall' by Peter Warr ' The late Peter Warr's memoirs were sadly unfinished but the first-hand account of one of the great F1 teams at its peak and Warr's trenchant opinions make for an absorbing read.
- 'I Just Made the Tea' by Di Spires ' Fantastically entertaining and very funny tales of F1 drivers behaving badly.
- 'The Limit: Life and death in Formula 1's most dangerous era' by Michael Cannell ' An account of the 1961 world championship battle between Ferrari drivers Phil Hill and Wolfgang von Trips, which ended in tragedy.
- 'Formula 1: All the races' by Roger Smith ' You might not think a book of F1 statistics is the sort of thing you might sit down and read, but the detailed 'capsule' information on each race and extensive information on this season means you can do just that.
